Cattle Cars
80-120 Jews were loaded unto cattle car compartments to be relocated to camps.
The compartments were packed tight, Jews had to have their arms raised to make more room.
Two buckets were placed on these carts, one was a water bucket and the other was a toilet, the buckets if needed were passed around by feet. Most of the time there was too little room for the buckets so the floor where you are standing on was your bathroom.
The average ride to a camp was 4 days, no food, water, toilet, ventilation, and they didn't matter if it was boiling hot or freezing cold.
The longest ride was to the Greek island Corfu, the ride lasted 18 days and when the doors opened everyone was already dead.

(Tattoos and Numbers: The System of Identifying Prisoners at Auschwitz)
